BIG TIME MYTH:
It's too costly to have my cats
spayed or neutered.

FACT # 1: Compared to multiple litters of kitties, which can add up to a substantial vet bill, the cost of spaying (female) or neutering (male) is relatively low and it's a one time cost.

FACT # 2: The problem of overpopulation is created, perpetrated and exacerbated one litter at a time, costing humane shelters or your municipal tax dollars to have cats and other animals euthanized.

FACT # 3: Because cats are not spayed or neutered, a number of pricey situations are almost guaranteed to occur: illness like cancer, wounds from territorial fights, damaged furniture or floor problems due to excessive spraying. These can add up to a lot more money than having the pet fixed.

FACT # 4: Cats seem happier after being spayed or neutered. The investment to do the surgery decreases or completely removes: excessive urine spraying, absessed wounds from fighting with other cats, the urge to escape and mammory or testicular cancer.

FACT # 5: There are low cost spay and neutering organizations in ILLINOIS.
